• When unplugging an electrical device, pull the plug, not the cord from the outlet.
• Do not pull a plug when your hands are wet.
• Do not break off or bypass the 3rd prong, it is there for safety reasons.

• Keep cords away from heat or water sources.
• If cords or plugs show signs of wear, or damage, replace immediately.
• Do not place cord under a carpet, through a doorway, or anywhere that it could be stepped on.
• Extension cords are only intended for temporary use.
• Unplug electrical gadgets and small appliances when not in use.
• Unplug the toaster before prying out that stuck piece of toast.
• Keep electrical devices away from sources of water.

• Never put fingers or other objects in an outlet.
• Stay away from substations and power lines.
• Don’t climb on power poles.
• Don’t touch or climb trees that are near power lines.
• Never fly kites near power lines.
• Stay away from broken or fallen lines.
• Obey warning signs.
• Unused wall outlets should be secured, consider using safety outlets that prevent foreign objects from being inserted.
• Block outlets with creative arrangement of furniture.
• Store bathroom and kitchen electrical appliances out of reach of curious children.
• Put electrical devices such as PVR players on a shelf out of reach, or behind a barrier.
